Antigravity Batteries is pleased to announce our sponsorship of race car driver Michele Abbate! She has several achievements under her belt, including 3 SCCA championships and 2 road racing championships. She was also the First Female and Rookie to take the overall win in the MotoIQ Pacific Tuner Car Championship (MPTCC) Tuner Under class. This 2017 season, Michele is racing in the SCCA US Majors Tour, the Nitto Tire US Touring Car Championship (USTCC), and the NASCAR Whelen All-American series.

A Las Vegas native, Michele grew up around many types of motorsports. She has been competing since age 16, starting in autocross at a regional level with the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA), racing in her daily driven car. A few years later at her first national SCCA competition, Michele succeeded with a podium finish behind two national champions!

She expanded her racing career with road course racing and time attack events through several organizations including 600 Racing/INEX, Redline Time Attack, National Auto Sport Association (NASA), UMS Tuning Time Attack, and others. In 2010 Michele was the first female to win at a Redline Time Attack event. That same year, she earned her NASA Time Trial license (with her daily driven car), and graduated from UNLV with a Bachelor’s degree.

Next, Michele became a factory driver for Scion Racing while driving the 2011 Crawford Performance Scion tC. She won 2nd place overall in 2011 for NASA Time Trials TT-E class. In 2012, she earned her Provisional Race License through NASA. Rapidly moving forward she became the first female to compete and podium in the MPTCC. With support from Scion Racing and Dynamic Autosports, and after 8 rounds of wheel to wheel racing, Michele was Champion of the Tuner Under class!

In 2014 Michele became the team owner and driver of the FR-S with help from Scion Racing. She debuted in her first professional wheel to wheel race with the USTCC series at the world famous Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca event. Her team finished the season 7th in overall points out of 18, 4th for rookie of the year, and also earned Scion its first manufacturer points in the history of the series. The following year in the SCCA US Majors Tour, Western Conference division, they took the regional Championship title.

Michele continues to expand her motorsports career at both regional and national levels. Now she is exploring different types of racing including drift, rally, and even motorcycles!
