This page will describe this new battery’s benefits, and compare it to Lead/Acid and our Lithium-Ion RE-START Battery. Sodium-Ion is the latest technology introduced by Antigravity Batteries for Starter Batteries also known as SLI (Starting, Lighting, Ignition) Batteries. The new Sodium-Ion Starter Battery has many benefits we address below. Benefits of Antigravity SODIUM-ION Batteries

  • LOWER COST THAN LITHIUM-ION (BUT SLIGHTLY HIGHER THAN LEAD/ACID)

Sodium-Ion Batteries pricing is somewhat between Lithium-Ion and Lead/Acid Batteries. The lower cost of materials for Sodium-Ion allows for a price point that is quite a bit lower than our Lithium-Ion options, but only a little higher cost than a similar sized Lead/Acid/AGM Battery. Yet, the Antigravity Batteries Sodium-Ion battery will offer significant benefits and advantages over lead/acid batteries for the slightly higher cost than Lead/Acid/AGM Batteries. For example: much longer battery life, built-in Jump Starting (our RE-START feature), 45% lighter weight, more environmentally friendly, and a Bluetooth App to monitor the Battery.

  • LIGHTER WEIGHT

Sodium-Ion Batteries are up to 45% lighter than equivalent lead/acid versions. That means about a 25-pound (11.3Kg) weight reduction by simply swapping out a Lead/Acid/AGM Battery for an Antigravity Sodium Battery in the typical H6/Group 48 size. Lithium-Ion is even lighter than Sodium Batteries, but even with Sodium the weight loss over Lead/Acid is extreme. Also note that the cost of saving 25lbs using exotic materials like Carbon Fiber, Titanium or Magnesium parts is about $20,000 dollars compared to a few hundred dollars to lose that 25lbs of weight from a performance vehicle with a simple swap to an Antigravity Sodium-Ion Battery.

  • SODIUM VS LEAD/ACID VS LITHIUM IN CRANKING POWER

Antigravity Sodium-Ion Batteries offer similar and slightly better Cranking Amps performance when compared with similar sized lead/acid batteries. Sodium will turn over vehicle motors with slightly more power and with less voltage sag than a comparable Lead/Acid Battery. So in any applications where a Lead/Acid or AGM battery is used, a Sodium Battery can be used and deliver a higher level of Cranking Performance and energy density. With that being said, our Antigravity Lithium-Ion Battery is still the most powerful option available of any battery by a good margin, so when seeking the most power possible in a battery Lithium-Ion is the best still, but costs more, and it is not always required in non-performance related vehicles.

  • LONGER LIFE

Antigravity Sodium-Ion Batteries have up to 3x the Lifecycle of Lead/Acid, due to much higher rated cycles, and also because of our built-in full Battery Management System (BMS). Sodium-Ion Batteries can be over-discharged well below voltages that would damage both Lead/Acid and Lithium Batteries and survive without damage. This is a great unique feature of Sodium-Ion, and when coupled with our full Battery Management System it delivers outstanding long-life performance. Our built-in BMS Circuitry keeps the battery in the optimal operating range for the longest life and also protects the Battery from Overcharge, Overcurrent, Overdischarge, and has high and low temperature protections for the longest life and safest operation possible. Additionally our Sodium-Ion Battery is lab tested and offers 3x-4x the rated cycles of a Lead/Acid Battery. A high quality lead/Acid battery is rated at about 750 to 1000 cycles; our Sodium-Ion battery is rated at 3000 to 4000 cycles. A cycle is a full discharge and recharge of the battery.

  • DURABILITY

Sodium-Ion Batteries are much more resistant to heat and vibration than Lead/Acid. Their shock- and vibration-resistance and wider operating temperature ranges makes them a more durable battery than Lead/Acid/AGM options. They are also less prone to heat damage than Lead/Acid. Another key benefit of Sodium-Ion batteries is their excellent performance in Low Temperatures, similar to performance from Lead/Acid Batteries. They are able to operate in extremely cold weather. This can benefit those with vehicles constantly subjected to cold environments such as Tractors, Trucks and other work vehicles in colder temperatures.

  • VERSATILE MOUNTING and SAFER INSTALLATION

You can mount our Sodium Battery in most orientations in the vehicle such as on its side or back (but not upside down). There is no acid to spill out or anything that can damage your paint, sheet metal or battery tray. There is also no Hydrogen released during charging. Take note all you classic Car builders; it will not leak or damage anything and is lighter than Lead/Acid/AGM Batteries.
