This is my 4th AG-1601, and 4th track vehicle I have put it in. Works great to start big ol’ 90’s Nissan engines with no issues. Glad I found these and a sleek mounting solution.

I purchased a small case lithium 16 cell in May 2013 to help with the starting on my bike. It’s a custom chopper with limited space and this appeared to be the answer. Before I explain, let me just say that the battery cranks my S&S motor like no other battery I’ve ever had!
Now, the first battery didn’t crank like I expected. It would tend to hang on the compression stroke when cold like most older Harleys, but would really spin after it got over the first compression stroke. I thought this battery would have completely eliminated that problem for me but version 1 did not. I ran it for exactly one year, having to put the charger on it frequently and help it get over the compression stroke manually when cold (roll it, dump the clutch, 3rd gear, hit the starter button at the same time…). I should have sent it back immediately.
Then a year later when trying to get it started one day I killed it. Had to put the charger on and left it for about 30 minutes. Came back to find that it exploded in my battery box: the case separated and came apart. I sent it in for warranty. After sending it in I found that it was not covered and I had to pay for half the price for a replacement. I had hoped that warranty would have covered an obviously defective battery but not in this case.
I purchased the replacement and another new one at the same time. The new one cranked the motor over like it was a lawnmower motor, even when cold. This was what I expected the first time around. Since then I’ve had no issues and it starts the bike better than ever.
When I sent the blown battery in for warranty and inspection, they suggested I send my 8amp charger along with it (purchased at the same time for that battery) just to make sure it was not the cause of the exploded battery. The charger was fine. When I finally received my replacement battery however, there was no charger with it. I called, explained, and they sent out another charger. Not my 8 amp charger though: a 4 amp instead. I called, explained, and they sent out another. A few days later I received another 4 amp charger! I called, explained, bitched a little, and was sent another charger. It finally arrived and was the correct 8 amp charger. It took just over a month to get my replacement battery and correct charger back to me. That experience could have gone a hell of a lot smoother, I think.
I’m sure my case was not entirely typical however, and I doubt most people have that much trouble. In the end I would, and will, purchase all my MC batteries in the future from these guys. Even though I got screwed a bit on warranty and lost a bit of time with the confusion, this Antigravity 16 cell is the best battery I’ve ever had in any of my bikes. If you have a custom chopper with limited space and some motor work, you really can’t go wrong with one of these.
