Houghton Roostertails to Another Win, CSCS Rd2

James Houghton CSC2 Recap

By Motorwerks Media
The Scottish band Wet, Wet, Wet could have been named for the abysmal conditions this past Sunday at Toronto Motorsports Park during the second Canadian Sport Compact Series event of the year. The weather forecast predicted the rain but it did not stop racers and fans alike from turning out at the popular Cayuga area venue. Even though he has raced in the wet more this year than in any time in his career Houghton waited until mid-afternoon to see if the conditions would get any better. When they did not he went out to qualify in wet conditions that allowed all those spectating to see how good his aero was working. Roostertails in excess of 25 feet in height were common on any straightaway. Talking about the run, Houghton said,

“I had hoped to wait and get some dry weather to qualify in but you have to take what the weather gives you. Seeing photos of the roostertails tell me the aero is working perfectly and I have to thank the guys at Professional Awesome for that. The car really works well in the wet and I am comfortable in it, it is not a white knuckle ride and that makes my job a lot easier.”

In slightly drier conditions Houghton’s K-Tuned Acura Type R dominated in the Time Attack Shootout and not only took the class win but overall Fastest Time of the Day (FTD).

“I was nice to win class and get another FTD,” said Houghton, “The car is just getting better and better. My crew have not stopped working on improving it since we swapped to turbo, even when it means not working on their own cars. I can’t thank them enough for all their help and dedication.”
