Our sponsored team AmPro Yamaha Racing wrapped up the 2017 GNCC Series last weekend in Crawfordsville, Indiana, taking home 2 Championships plus a 3rd OA! The stakes were high for both Ricky Russell in the XC1 Pro Motorcycle Class as well as Cody Miller in the XC1 Pro Side By Side Class. (Thankfully, Josh Toth’s position was all ready secured as the 2017 XC2 Pro Lites Champion.)
Right out of the gate, Cody Miller put on an outstanding performance in the SXS pro class, getting the holeshot and never looking back. This hard fought race gave Cody his first ever GNCC Championship!
In the motorcycle division, Ricky Russell also jumped the field, grabbing the XC1 holeshot and rushing his Yamaha YZ450FX to front of the pack. He was able to stay there for a good portion of the race but unfortunately, after 3 hours of battling, Ricky wasn’t able to hold the lead and fell back to a third place finish. However, this finish also secured a 3rd overall spot for year, giving the Factory Yamaha Off-Road Racing Program one the best years in recent history.
